Mile High Station made a decision in 2006 to make a commitment to “green” business practices. Here are just a few things MHS does on a daily basis:
• Xeriscape
• Recycle all paper, aluminum and plastic waste
• Use Energy Efficient light bulbs
• Reduce commutes – We encourage all of our clients to promote the “light rail” as a way for all of their guests to come and go from our venue. MHS is just a short walk from the INVESCO Field stop on Line C of the light rail system
• In 2006 MHS installed all new Kohler toilets and sink faucets. Our new sink faucets and urinals are electronic to reduce water waste. All toilets are from the “water sense” line to also help reduce water waste
• Email all literature to diminish paper waste
• E-Newsletter sent out quarterly to diminish paper waste
• Remodeled old historic building. Recycled materials from another Denver historic building that was demolished
• Use Eco-Friendly cleaning products
• Turn off equipment when it's not being used
• Reduce fax-related paper waste- MHS scans all documents instead of faxing to diminish paper waste
• Heat and Air Conditioner controlled electronically to keep it low or off when no events are taking place
